January is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month in Canada. During this month, we are encouraged to learn about dementia and its impact on Canadians. In the Alzheimer Society of Canada’s landmark study The Many Faces of Dementia it is estimated that there are over 650,000 people living with dementia in Canada.
